Legat de compatibilitate este o intrega poveste. V5 6K a fost produsa doar sub forma de prototip si nu a ajuns in retail. Sunt mai multe revizii, fiecare cu hibele sale.

"Just because a particular motherboard has a chipset that supports the 3.3 AGP voltage the 3dfx boards require doesn't mean the motherboard automatically supports 3.3 volt cards! I have seen several KT-333 chipset motherboards that did NOT support 3.3v AGP cards, its up to the board maker to do so or not even if the chipset is capable. It's very import to follow up and check via the manufactures specs and with other V5-6000 owners! Running a 5000/5500/6000 on motherboard that doesn't properly support the board will fry it. "
About agp voltage:
Voodoo banshee/3/5 agp cards only work with 3,3v agp slots so be careful with newer boards. socket7/slot1/slotA/s370 boards are usually fine. for socket A the limit seems to be a board with via kt333A chipset (but still check it). kt400/nforce and higher are not compatible with 3,3v agp cards. Intel boards for p4 cpu's are not compatible at all. Only some p4 boards with SIS chipsets are know to work (check before trying).
