Daaa, parca si vad un overclocker cu asemenea masinarie. Cand diversi driveri/drMosi/powirstage incep sa danseze hora unirii la -10 sau -20, sau cand proacele au cold bug/boot pe la -65 (numerele sunt arbitrare) fix 0 absolut ar duce frecventele mai sus )

Un thermal pad... e posibil sa fie bun pe laptop-uri, sau oriunde e vorba de contact direct die. Nu prea are treaba cu desktop-ul

Ei zic ca cica ar conduce caldura mai bine decat cuprul...de 3 ori...i implicit ar merge si la desktop...

Eh, au zis multi multe de-a lungul timpului. Si aurul conduce mai bine, si argintul. Pad-uri s-au mai facut si pentru procesoare dar nu era mare lucru de capul lor (a testat Ramiro pe site) pentru ca intre ihs si talpa de cupru tot de pasta ai nevoie. E, intre pastila de siliciu si talpa de cupru, e posibil sa mearga mai bine un pad (grafit sau alte chestii de genul) si pe unele placi video se foloseste asa ceva. Ei pentru aia il fac, pentru ca avem probleme cu laptopurile in zilele noastre la capitolul asta.

Thermal conductivity.

MX-4 - 8.5 W/mK

Coollaboratory Liquid Pro - 82 W/mK

Copper - 385.0 W/mK

Sa inteleg ca pad-ul asta din lacrimi de inorog o sa aiba conductivitate de ~1500 W/mK, in conditiile in care diamantul are cea mai mare rata de transfer termic la ~1000-1200 W/mK.

Exista tot felul de hibride (grafen, etc), dar nu asta e problema. Problema este grosimea stratului. Degeaba conduce mai bine daca trebuie sa fie mai gros. Pasta termica, in mod normal, umple iregularitati microscopice. Dar daca vorbesti de ceva mai gros de 1mm, deja pierzi mult mai mult din cauza asta.

Asta clar, eu vreau sa vad asteriscul ala care zice ca de fapt transfera de 4x mai repede caldura decat cuprul doar daca ai asistat la nasterea lui Iisus live.

Plus ca 90% din problema de transfer a caldurii nu e PE IHS ci SUB el, intre IHS si DIE, unde suprafata de contact e muuult mai mica.

Singura sansa sa fie ceva pe bune ar fi sa fie din Graphene, cu toate ca eu nu stiu ca tehnologia sa fi avansat intr-atat incat sa fie posibil acum. Graphene are conductivitate de aprox 5000 W/mK daca tin minte bine, dar graphene inseamna foaie de carbon groasa de... 1 atom. Graphene 3D momentan e foarte greu de produs.
