Ori phenom II or buldozer tot cam acolo ajungeau, au incercat si ei ceva... oricum multithread e bun buldozerul.

Anyway, link-ul: http://www.eteknix.com/amd-phenom-iv...-compatbility/

[Rumour] AM4, 12 Core, 6 GHz AMD Phenom IV X12 170 “Baeca” 25nm CPU Leaked
I can’t stress the word rumour enough on this one, there are many people telling lies in the tech world and it can often take a while to uncover the full truth, although this story does sound a bit too incredible to pass up and it’s not completely unbelievable either, Chiphell has pulled up some early info many times in the past, so there is good reason to suspect the same is true today.
The Chiphell forums turned up details on a new AMD CPU called Baeca. The Phenom IV X12 170 processor is built around a 25nm process, features a whopping 12 cores and a 6GHz base clock speed, all within a 75w TDP package, backed up with 23MB of L3 cache.
The hardware also features new instruction sets 3DNow(+), AMD-V and AMD-IV. Of course this new hardware needs other new hardware to operate and it is said that it was running on an AM4 motherboard from ASUS.
Rumour is a wonderful thing and it will be interesting to see if AMD really do pull out a 12 core 6GHz chip in the near future. Of course that may sound like a competitive option right now, but Intel will also have Broadwell and Skylake hardware over the same time period.
Thank you WCCFTech for providing us with this information.
"Code-named Nottingham, this new architecture will feature a 2GHz clockspeed base clock, Turbo as high as 4GHz.
The CPU will feature new instructions sets 3DNow(+), AMD-V and AMD-IV. It is mentioned that the processor is in ES phase and was tested with an internal AM4 motherboard from ASUS. The AM4 motherboard will feature quad-channel DDR4 RAM or GDDR5 RAM on high-end motherboards. The Processor will feature 32MB of L3 Cache. By far, the most intriguing bit of information is the option to run the procecessor in PowerThreading mode, which is AMDs alternative of intel's popular Hyperthreading feature. This will allow two of the 16 cores to operate as a single core, but produce, depending on the task at hand, anywhere from 40-80% IPC improvement over the base Nottingham architecture. This feature can be used when a program demands more powerful single-threaded performance. Each module can operate independently, allowing for a range of potential configurations. (14 cores, 1 PowerThreaded core). With Powerthreading enabled, IPC matches or exceeds current haswell chips.
The processor line will most likely be named Archon, and feature a broad range of individual processors, from 1 module, 2 cores, up to 8 module 16 cores. Early performance tests show that the 16 core variant of Archon is on par with a 3960x running at 5GHz. interestingly enough, sources say this will be the first AMD processor that commercially, will drop all indication of clock speed within OEM parts, citing that improvements in IPC have made clock speed completely redundant. Now, AMD will instead advertise their processors with FLOPs, AMD has also decided to change the way they market power consumption, preferring a more streamlined, intel-like approach. The processor will have a different naming scheme, differing based on a multitude of factors.
Archon - 4GHz Turbo - 16 cores - 95w power envelope
Opteron - 3GHz Turbo - 16 cores - 45w power envelope
Phenom 4GHz Turbo - 12 cores - 70w power envelope
Athlon - 4GHz Turbo - 8 cores - 45w power envelope
Turion - 4GHz Turbo - 6 cores - 20w power envelope
Duron - 4GHz Turbo - 4 cores - 14w power envelope
Sempron - 4GHz Turbo - 2 cores - 7w power envelope
All these new AMD processors will be christened the 270 series, as time marches on we can expect variants coming to the plate. All AMD AM4 chips are overclock-able."
